No matter how high or low the office, officials are very busy people. The higher the office, the more likely (only) a staffer will read your letter. Keep it brief and respectful but do convey any strong feelings you have. If you have the information, provide any statistics or facts to support your feelings. State your wish for them either to continue to agree with you or to change his/her mind. Thank him/her/them for all the hard work they do even if you don’t agree with a particular item(s). Read it a few times and run a spell checker, remember it becomes public record once you hit the Send button!
